MSA publishes provisional Stage Rally Tyre List

The Motor Sports Association (MSA) has published the provisional Tyre List for special stage rallies held on unsealed surfaces from 1 January 2015.

The move is intended to help reduce the environmental impact of stage rallies on forest roads. The list includes options from the major manufacturers of first generation tyres. Remoulded tyres acceptable from 2015 will be added to the list later this year, which will complete the final list.

GMSC Members at the Snowman

Well Saturday saw a few well known faces at the Rally who were out spectating for the day.

Frustrating but promising season opener for BBR rally team.

The opening round of the 2014 ARR Craib Scottish Rally Championships set off in Inverness at the Arnold Clark Thistle Snowman rally last Saturday.  The Snowman rally would also be the first event of the year for Kinross 18 year old Blair Brown, driver of the Peugeot 205 1.6 GTI, backed by QTS Group. Preparations for the rally began early and a test day was complete the week before, allowing Blair and Co-driver Richard Simmonds from Duns, to settle into the car ahead of their season opener.

2014 Scottish Navigational Rally Championship Aquarius Rally

Glenrothes Motor Sport Club played host to the opening round of the 2014 Scottish Navigational Rally Championship on Saturday 1st Feb, with 100 miles of Perth & Kinross lanes on Map 58 to kick off the season. Unfortunately it would be a quieter start to the year than expected, with a disappointing entry of just 5 crews lining up for scrutineering at Kinross Services.

2014 Winter Autotest

Fourteen competitors braved arctic conditions to make the trip to Knockhill for the 2014 Winter Autotest and were rewarded by steadily improving weather which ended up being quite a pleasant day.

Brodie Balfour brought out the new Aygo only to have a CV joint break on the very first test, but better to happen there than on the first Rally of the season.
